How to play Time Capsule
Inspect a little collection from the past. Spot the objects that arrived from its future.
Make your first move
Read the year and inspect the object labels. Select exactly three future arrivals, then check the set. Tap a selected object again to remove it.
The rules in this edition
Inspect the illustrated objects and select exactly three that were not publicly available by the end of the displayed year. The earliest worldwide release counts, so imports are allowed. Submit your set; you have three attempts. Each repeat of the same set costs nothing. A perfect set is worth 30 points, minus 5 per earlier attempt. The scene is an original diagram, not an archival photograph.
Use the cutoff date, not how old something looks
Imagine a scene dated 31 December 2000. A device first released in 2001 does not belong, even if its design looks older than another object.
- Use the end of the stated year as the cutoff. A release during that year belongs in the scene.
- Compare the earliest worldwide availability, rather than the date it reached your own country. Imports count.
- Build a set of three objects and submit it. After the round, inspect the timeline and the linked manufacturer records.
A correct set earns 30 points, minus 5 for each earlier checked set. You have three attempts. An unchanged repeated set does not cost another attempt. Revealing the timeline ends the round for zero points.
This is a constructed lesson, not the current daily answer.
Is this a historical photograph with hidden objects?
No. It is an original illustrated diagram using labelled objects and release facts. The end-of-year rule and earliest worldwide release date are part of this edition, so an object may fit even if it was uncommon locally.
Daily play, practice and saved progress
Daily editions change at midnight UTC. Practice uses a separate round. Five solo games share a small M1 catalogue, so dates and practice rounds can reuse content. Up to 200 recent solo rounds are stored in this browser, without an account or cross-device sync. Clearing browser data removes them.
Scores use this game’s own point scale and cannot rank players across different games. Solo challenge codes select the same content for a friend; they do not create a shared online room.
Content and sources
Scenes are original diagrams. Completed rounds link to manufacturer records for dated objects; earliest worldwide availability governs the answer.
